Board 2024-2025

On the 24th of September 2024, we were announced as the 44th Board of VIP!

As a Board, we run the association for one year! We co-ordinate all the committees, offer our members a lot of benefits and try to make sure that all our members have a great year.

You can find us at the Heymans faculty (Hv.0402) every Monday until Friday, from 11:00 until 15:00. If you have any questions, want to sign up as a member or want to enjoy a quick chat, always feel free to come by!

Hi guys!

My name is Anne Sofie and I am 21 years old. I am very proud to say that I am the chair of the 44th Board of VIP this year. Originally I come from Lelystad, but I’ve been living in Groningen for the past two years and it’s really one of the best choices I’ve ever made! This city quickly became my new home and one reason for that is because of the amazing people I met within VIP! 

In my free time I love to hang out with friends and family, I like watching movies and tv shows and of course, I love a little party once in a while. Other than this, a great passion of mine is traveling. Because of this I decided to do an high school exchange year at the age of 16. I got to live in America with an amazing and sweet family and I really got to experience the American lifestyle. Traveling is my passion, but it is even better when I am traveling with my mom, since she is really one of my best friends.

For the past two years I’ve already been very active within VIP. In my first year I did acquisition in the Exchange Committee, and last year I was in the acquisition structure and besides this I was the chair of the Dies Committee! Being so active within VIP made me realize how much I love putting effort into this association, and therefore I decided to apply for a Board year. 

As the chair of VIP I am responsible for keeping a general overview of the association. I will be focusing on implementing our policy plan in the upcoming year. Other than this I chair our Board meetings and maintain the group cohesion of the Board. 

I am beyond excited about the upcoming year and can’t wait to make an unforgettable time with everyone in the upcoming year!

Hey guys!

My name is Elja Bregman, and I am 22 years old. I am originally from Elburg, but I have lived in the beautiful Groningen since 2020 :) Since I like being a student in Groningen so much, I will be taking a gap year in which I will be fulfilling the job as Secretary and Commissioner of Diversity and Inclusion in the 44th Board of VIP!

When I am not working on my laptop or scrolling through social media on my phone, I am probably hanging out with friends, cutting someone’s hair, calling my mom, or looking for another new hobby to begin with. One thing about me is that there will always be music playing in the background! Oh, and when I can find the time, I am having one of my dance classes at Ramé Dance Club.

Before applying for the Board, I was active within the Yearbook Committee, through which I met a lot of people who are now part of my close friends. During this year, I noticed how much I liked to be actively involved within VIP, which made me want to take the leap and apply for a Board year.

As Secretary and Commissioner of Diversity and Inclusion, I am busy with making the minutes during meetings, the internal and external communication through mail and email, and the member administration; basically, I oversee a lot of the documents. Another part of my job is working on new ideas and initiatives to make our association even more inclusive than we already are. And besides all of this, I am also the commissioner of two committees, which I am very excited about!

I am very proud and excited to be part of the Board this year and cannot wait to make a lot of fun memories together with all of you! If you have any questions, feel free to come by and ask them :)

Hi everyone,

My name is Luuk, and I’m the treasurer of the 44th Board of VIP. I’m 24 years young and originally from Zwolle a.k.a. the place everyone passes by with the train. It might be hard to believe, but there is more to Zwolle than its train station. But for the past 2 years I’ve been living in Groningen and I’ve been loving it ever since. I can say that the best thing about Groningen is the Martinitoren, the psychology study or the amazing people of VIP, but it’s actually eierballen. In my free time, I like to play the guitar, listen to music, hang out with friends and because of all the eierballen, I’d like to start judo again to even it out. For the past year I’ve worked as a student mentor at the rug, and right now, I work as a research assistent at the UMCG. 

In my first year of VIP I was the treasurer of the First Year Committee and I can honestly say that this was one of the best decisions of my life. I became best friends with all my committee member. And through the events we organized, we made our friend group even bigger. This motivated me to join the Event Committee, which organizes one of the best events VIP has to offer. Because of my love for the association and specifically its members, I decided to apply for a position on the Board. 

As the treasurer of the Board I’m responsible of all the money within VIP. Amongst other things, I will make the budget, send invoices and collect contribution. I also have some nice collaborations with other associations and I’m the commissioner of two very fun committees. 

I’m beyond excited for the upcoming year and I can't wait to see all of you during activities. I practically live at the Hok (VIP office) so feel free to come by if you have any (money related) questions or just want to have some coffee and a chat.

Hey everyone,

My name is Fleur Ambergen and I will be your commissioner of internal affairs for this coming year. I am responsible for the (active) members of our association, and I write our monthly newsletter.

I am originally from Coevorden but I grew up in the Middle East, which is why I consider myself more international than Dutch sometimes. However, I have grown back into the Dutch lifestyle and have already lived in Groningen for four years already!! Next to my tasks at the Board, I am busy with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology. Besides that, I love hanging out with my friends, playing games, playing padel and boxing.  

I’ve been active at VIP for a year in the Master Committee which led me to many wonderful friends and the decision to do a Board year. I’m very excited to meet all of you and I hope to see you all at all the exciting events we will be organizing this year.

Heeey everyone,

I am Femke and I am the Commissionair of Career and Education this year. I am 20 years old and originally from a small town in Noord-Holland called Waarland, but I have been living in Groningen for more than 2 years now.

In my free time I love to hang out with my friends, read books, listen to music (occasionally on my very cute record player) and to be way too competitive during board games. Right now I am also in my third year of the Bachelor. 

I have already had two amazing years within VIP as the Secretary of the Event Committee in my first year and the Chair of the Student Exchange Committee in my second year.

As the Commissioner of Career and Education, I will be primarily responsible for the good contact with the faculty. Next to this, I will be busy with maintaining the VIPs LinkedIn page, VIPs TikTok, overseeing the Year Representations, keeping in touch with our alumni members and organizing career-related events. I am already having so much fun with everyone and I am really thankful to have this position within the board.

Hi everyone,

My name is Mads Boer and in the upcoming year, I will be fulfilling the role of commissioner of Public Relations of the 44th Board of VIP. I’m 21 years old and originally from Groningen! However, for most of my childhood, I lived in Hoogezand-Sappemeer, which is a village close to Groningen. But for the past two years, I’ve been living in Groningen again! Here I enjoy going out with a few friends to go and get some drinks, or just chill in the Noorderplantsoen for example.

I became an active member of VIP in my first year, where I fulfilled the role of external affairs in the First Year Committee. I enjoyed this so much and met many of my current friends there! This amazing experience made me decide to do another committee, the Event Committee, where I was external affairs (again) and in charge of acquisition. In the Event Committee, I organized two amazing events and enjoyed this so much that it made me decide to do a Board year!

As the Commissioner of Public Relations, I’m primarily in charge of the acquisition side of VIP. Next to this, I’m also in charge of all the socials of VIP, so most of the things you see on the VIP Instagram are made and posted by me! Apart from this, I am also the commissioner of two really nice committees, which I help out where needed :))

I am really excited to be part of the VIP Board this year! I also can’t wait to see everyone of you at the activities and creating amazing experiences with you guys! If you ever have any questions, you can always stop by at the Hok (VIP office) to just have a chat over a cup of coffee!
